Question

A 75-year old male patient was admitted to the hospital with respiratory failure secondary to pneumonia. After several days of being treated with steroids and antibiotics, he has stabilized on 2 liters of oxygen via nasal cannula. He has a history of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), congestive heart failure, hypothyroidism, and rheumatoid arthritis, all of which are currently medically managed. The patient in the scenario was given beta-adrenergic agents, and the nurse needs to monitor for which systematic adverse effects?
