Participating in difficult conversations I continue to show empathy and understanding but still maintain focused on a resolution and I try to share personal experiences of speaking up in hopes of inspiring and encouraging my staff. Leading by example can lead to building trust with staff and encourages team to speak up. I participate in trainings such as Crucial Conversations that is offered by our education department and I encourage staff to participate also. Participating in this class can empower staff to address issues timelier and with the confidence needed. These strategies have allowed me as a nurse leader to be effective in leading my team. The have allowed for a more open and supportive work environment. The nurse leader must be consistent and willing to adapt as needed.
