Question

Homelessness in Texas has been on a slow decline since 2007, but Dallas has the highest rate of homelessness in the state. With lots of studies, the housing market is a huge reason that there has been such an increase in certain cities. Austin is one of the biggest problem areas for this in Texas, following Houston and San Antonio. High-income homes with less taxes to be paid are obviously less likely to struggle with these issues, whereas low-income households have a higher chance with higher taxes. Most of the homeless rate issues come from the pandemic taking place, as well as inflation not only in Texas, but in our whole country. With solutions across the board, making efforts to expand housing options to the homeless is one significant issue the state of Texas is always trying to improve. Making sure that the homeless always has meals provided and they do plenty of outreach into the homeless community is a big factor as well. Outreach in a community is such a huge part of helping, because that way they know someone cares, and that there are resources out there to help them. These are helpful ways to implicate daily to.
