Topic background - People living in rural and remote areas of Australia often experience health inequalities when compared to their metropolitan counterparts. Research from the Heart Foundation indicates that morbidity and mortality related to heart disease are significantly higher in rural and remote areas of Australia when compared to their metropolitan counterparts.
Assignment Question / Task Description -
Describe the effect of rurality on the prevalence, morbidity and mortality of cardiovascular disease in rural and remote populations of Australia. Discuss the key health messages that nurses provide to members of the community to red uce the incidence of c ardiovascular disease . In your answer identify two (2) relevant strategies or support organisations that exist in rural A ustralia specific to cardiovascular disease.
