Question

A resident reported to the nurse that she was hit by another resident from a different hall. She explained that as she was passing by, the other resident used her hands to hit her left arm. Upon assessment, the nurse found that the resident was alert and oriented. The skin on her left arm, where she was reportedly hit, showed no redness or swelling. The resident expressed a pain level of 4 out of 10 when the area was touched, but she was able to move her arm without difficulty. A secure message was sent to Dr. Younger regarding the incident. Attempts were made to contact the resident's cousin, but unfortunately, no one answered the call, and there was no option to leave a voicemail. The Director of Nursing has been informed of the situation.
