Question

Jake is a 26-year-old male with a history of morbid obesity, acanthosis nigricans and newly diagnosed type 2 diabetes - 3 weeks ago. He was referred to you for nutrition counseling. Jake has seen a dietitian several times for weight loss counseling however, he's been noncompliant with the recommendations and continues to gain weight. His blood pressure is also elevated. He's being closely monitored and has not yet started on blood pressure medication.
