Question

A 70 yr. old female who sustained a ground-level fall while she was walking to the bathroom. She reported that her leg gave out and her left leg slid out; she landed on her left thigh and felt immediate pain in her leg. She was unable to stand, and she called EMS, who brought her to the ER for evaluation, where an x-ray showed she had a left distal femur fracture. Past medical history of hyperthyroidism, diabetes now diet-controlled hyperlipidemia, prior hypertension off meds, had a chronic abdominal wound from enterovaginal fistula with prior wound VAC and just recently right lower abdomen/pelvic wound healed she was given okay to increase activity.
