2. Empire plays out in the political, economic and social aspects of our lives. In the social sphere, gender, sexuality and race all have been manipulated to provide justification for the inequalities embedded into imperialism. Using a particular historical case (of a region, city, or empire) illustrate how one of the factors (gender, race, or sexuality) impacted the regulations of the empire.

3. The history of imperialism and colonialism has left significant legacies in the contemporary geopolitical sphere-national borders being one of them. Using a specific country, discuss the imperial contests that led to the establishment of their contemporary borders. What consequences has this history had in international (and intraTnational) relations?
