Question

What is the nursing diagnosis for 52 year old female, 5'5", 200 lbs. C/O numbness and tingling in the toes of the left foot and pain in the left calf with walking. she has a history of emphysema. assessment: left food cool to touch, edema 1+ pitting, pale with weak posterior tibial and dorasalis pedis pulses. right foot slightly cool, pale, with weak posterior tibial and dorsalis pedis pulses. left calf hot, reddened and swollen with a positive Homan's sign. left calf measures 3 inches larger than the right. right calf WNL. she has a 1cm x 2cm open wound on th right great toe with small amounts yellow drainage. she states she cut her toe on a piece of glass 1 month ago. she is SOA with minimal exertion. temp. 99.2F, BP 170/90, pulse 100, resp 24. lab reports reveal RBC 3.0, hemoglobin 12, hematocrit 38, EBC 12.9. platelets 500,000 BUN 16, creatinine 1.0, PT 8. physician orders: doppler of left lower extremity, heparin 5000 unit IV bolus then continuous IV drip at 1000 units hour, strict bedrest, rocephin 500 mg IV every 6 hours, oxygen at 2L nasal cannula, 1500 calorie low fat diet, no concentrated sweets, vital.
