HIMSS Davies Award Case Study

To complete this case study, the student will go to the following link:

The student will choose a 2014 HIMSS Davies Award recipient, then they will read the related case study.  After careful consideration, the student will answer the following questions:

  1. What is the name of the Case Study that was reviewed?
  2. What is the Davies Award?
  3. What does the Davies Award represent?
  4. Who is eligible to apply for the award?
  5. How does this compare to the Grace Award given by AHIMA?
  6. Name the Recipient (facility or organization) that was selected.
  7. Identify the location.
  8. Explain the type of facility (acute care or ambulatory, etc).
  9. Identify the name and title of the person who submitted the application to HIMSS.

In addition, the student will select and read an EHR Adoption Case Study at the following link:

Then the student will indicate the following:

  1. Which case study was read?
  2. Provide the "lessons learned".
  3. Identify the "value derived".

This will be completed in a word document following APA formatting requirements.  (Including a cover and reference page.)
