A car with mass 500 kg travels over a hill with a radius of curvature of 5m at a speed of 15 m/s. What is the normal force on the car when the car is at the top of the hill?

ΣF = mv2/r

N + W = mv2/r

N + -mg = m(-v2/r)

N - (500 kg)(9.8 N/kg) = (500 kg) (-15 m/s/5m)

N - 4900 = -22,500

N = -17,600
