Question

The article highlights the impact of visiting a museum on our health. It emphasizes that simply visiting cultural venues can lower the risk of health problems. This practice enables thousands of patients to get a doctor's prescription to visit a museum, either on their own or accompanied. The prescription aimed to promote the recovery and well-being of patients with chronic illnesses such as hypertension and diabetes, neurological conditions, cognitive disorders or mental health problems.Similar projects have emerged globally, promoting wellness through museum-based wellness activities, such as museum yoga and guided meditations. According to research that was carried out in England, visiting theaters, opera houses, museums, and galleries every two or three months, or more, can lower the risk of health problems such as dementia, depression, and geriatric frailty syndrome with a 50 percent lower risk and 40 percent lower risk of developing these types of health problems. However, it is not yet confirmed whether exposure to art leads to healthier aging. Some studies listed in Mikaela Law's work, a psychology researcher in New Zealand, show that contact with artwork can lower blood pressure, heart rate, and the cortisol secreted in saliva, and reduction in the body's state of guardedness or stress. There are still a lot of questions that have no answers yet, and further cohort studies and randomized controlled trials are required to be done but it still shows that engaging in cultural and artistic activities can benefit people's health.
