In each one of the following scenarios, critique the approach to data collection. Your critique should highlight the main problem with the approach used and suggest a solution.

1. Before recording the proceedings of interviews meant to gather data on organisational culture at the interviewee's place of work, the investigator/researcher conducting the study, who is also the direct supervisor of the employees participating in the study, informed the interviewees that participation in the study is obligatory for all employees recruited to partake in the study.

2. To evaluate the popularity of a new television series, WRP Inc., the broadcasting company invited people to install an app, provide name, gender and age, home address, e-mail address, and phone number, and to vote yes, they would watch it again, or no, they would not watch it again.

3. Famish, a family-owned supermarket in Cape Town recently completed a major renovation. To obtain customer reactions, the tellers were instructed to place a short questionnaire into each customer's grocery bag while putting the groceries in.

4. To save time, a student decided to administer a self-administered questionnaire in a research project without pretesting or piloting it.

5. The management of a Johannesburg-based shopping mall, Southgate, decided to place interviewers in the parking lot every Saturday to ask respondents where they live and the two (2) to three (3) stores they came to visit on this shopping trip.
