High pressure steam at a rate of 450 kg/h which is at 3.5 MPa and 700°C is expanded in a turbine to produce work. Two exit streams are removed from the turbine. One of the streams is at 1.4 MPa and 200°C and has a flow rate equal to one third of the inlet flow. The other stream is at 0.1 MPa and 150°C. The heat loss from the turbine is estimated to be 19.5 kW. The temperature of the surroundings is 20°C. The work to be obtained from the turbine is expected to be 121kW. Determine if this process is possible..
