1. Henslin's discussion of the levels of social reality i.e. macro and micro
a. Describe the focus of each level.
b. Which level is the most familiar to you and which is the most unfamiliar and reflect on why this might be.
c. think through why sociologists argue that there are these various levels to social reality, what would be the advantages to dividing society in this way.
Theoretical Perspectives in Sociology
Each perspective provides important information about society but the focus of each is different. Each theoretical perspectives focuses on different aspects of society.
a. identify the focus of each perspective.
b. identify a sociologist identified with each of the the theoretical perspectives.
c. evaluate the way Henslin presents each of the theoretical approaches and specifically does he rank the different theories as "good, better, best" or present each as equally valuable
d. evaluate the perspectives that is list the one that resonates the most , in other words which of the perspectives do you find appealing and why?
