Air enters a compressor with a pressure of 14.7 lbf/in2, a temperature of 70 degrees F, and a volumetric flow rate of 40 ft3/s. Air exits the compressor at 50 lbf/in2 and 190 degrees F. Heat transfer from the compressor to its surroundings occurs at a rate is 20.5 Btu/lb of air flowing. Determine the compressor power, in Horsepower, for steady-state operation.
