Take a moment to think of someone you know who has healthy self-esteem. He/She must be your teacher, friend, family. Typically, this person is confident, able to be assertive when needed, and has a strong belief in his or her own self-worth and capabilities. These beliefs often influence how this person relate to others, and how he or she communicates. Individuals with healthy self-esteem are often better communicators because they tend to focus on the positive aspects of both them and other people.

Does the person you know exhibit the traits that are typical of people with high self-esteem? Does he or she build up other people or you? acting as an "ego-booster"? Or do they "bust" and diminish those around them? Describe how he or she affects you and your sense of self. Based on these observations, does this person have healthy self-esteem?
