Healthcare Operation management Unit 2 Individual Assignment The emergency room at a local hospital has hired you as a consultant to help improve the triage process in the ER on the weekends. You take a random sample of 25 walk in patients on a Saturday evening and track their waiting time in minutes from the time they sign in, until they are seen by the triage nurse. This is Sample 1. After conducting a process flow study, you make some recommendations to the ER Chief to decrease the average waiting time for triage, and they agree to try the recommendations. After two weeks of using the new process, you take another random sample of 25 patients during the same time period as the first sample. This is Sample 2. Using Excel, calculate the mean wait times for both samples, along with their standard deviations. Then conduct a t-test, assuming unequal variances, to determine if there is a statistically significant difference in the mean waiting time of the two samples. Submit your findings in a Word document and include the Excel spread sheet. Sample 1 - Old patient triage process wait time in minutes Sample 2 - New patient triage process wait time in minutes 35.63, 30.44 29.80 26.51 33.43 30.46 29.37 33.44 33.62 31.06 30.65 30.05 33.26 33.70 27.11 31.62 28.36 24.03 37.48 31.42 35.02 30.20 31.99 32.67 30.22 28.99 31.99 30.57 31.49 32.49 33.34 30.54 35.84 33.44 27.68 33.00 33.18 33.13 29.93 34.90 30.81 29.08 33.96 35.72 34.87 35.90 41.05 30.70 32.31 33.15 (the numbers are arranged in the form of the first number 35.63 for sample 1 and 30.44 for sample 2 and it goes all the way).
