Question

Because of this health care organizations are spending extra money when a patient is injured due to a fall that could have been completely avoidable and could have prevented unnecessary injury to the patient. Falls are one of the most common as well as preventable causes for injury in older adults according to the report that was completed by the CDC in 2018. The report states that about one in four older adults report following which is equivalent to around 36 million falls per year. Out of those 36 million falls per year about eight million of the falls require medical attention and limit patient activity for at least one day. In terms of our facility here at ABC surgical center, the statistic is extremely important because a majority of our patients are recovering from a surgery which makes them at greater risk for falls and reinjury. This report from the CDC also mentioned that about 35,000 older adults have died from falls which is equivalent to close to 90 fall deaths per year. And over the last decade these percentages have increased by over 30%. paraphrase.
