By looking at this clinical picture, I am paying attention to the patients rights and choice. From an intrapersonal angle, being mindful of patient's gender, age and hygiene preferences would matter because, patient might have been used to performing personal hygiene in a specific manner. Would nurses be able to provide personal hygiene in a way that will meet patient's expectations. From an interpersonal perspective, is the therapeutic relationship strong enough that the patient would trust members of the health care team to complete personal hygiene for her? There could be previous experiences that would deter a patient from consenting to this aspect of her care from another person. Contextually, I am mindful of the power differential that exists between the nurse and the patient. The health care environment and with cameras constantly observing patients.
