Thesis Statement:

Certain necessary steps must be taken to ensure the good health and well-being of the workplace. Health and wellness in the workplace are crucial to a business success. Companies that promote healthy lifestyle habits for employees to improve their health are likely to have better productivity and employees are absent less.

Outline:

I. Chronic diseases are shifting from people of older age to the working age.

A. Over the past few decades, lifestyle diseases have increased in the United States.

1. Unhealthy lifestyles such as inactivity and poor nutrition have become some of the major reasons for lifestyle diseases.

II. How to foster a place of wellness?

A. Fostering a place of wellness is form by offering workplace wellness programs for employees to participate in.

1. Fitness programs - Wellness programs allow to help employees to not only feel but think.

2. Employee assistance programs - It is important to assist in taking care of employees' mental/emotional health as well as physical.

3. Transit options - Encouraging alternative transportation not only benefit our society but offering a benefit to employees assist in bettering the environment as well as the employee.

III. Maintaining a healthy workplace

A. After installing a healthy environment to work at the following steps is to keep and maintain a positive workplace.

1. Listening to the employees is simple, but very beneficial.

2. Investing in equipment that is not only quality but will last a long time could be detrimental to the company's success.

3. Make changes periodically to the workplace maintains employee involvement/engagement.
