Review the quote and the paragraph to determine how the quote influenced the thought process and build a case study based on wealth impacts health and the marginalized BIPOC communities. Quote: "Scientists have already summed up the results of multiple studies to show that wealthier people live longer, have less chronic disease, and maintain a higher level of function well into their old age. Reduced death rates, a longer life expectancy, and a lower risk of lifestyle conditions modified by income, such as obesity, smoking, hypertension, and asthma, are all concomitant benefits of having a high disposable income" (Thomas, 2022 para. 2). Paragraph: The quote was intended to set the stage for how wealth impacts the total person's health: wealthy individuals' access to preventative care that lower-income communities do not have access to due to limited financial resources. The scientific evidence of the quote gave me confidence that I would be able to find more information from scholarly articles to support how lower income individuals suffer chronic life-changing illnesses that are less likely to encounter. I intended to explain how disposable income has lasting affects into older age which was going to support the Medicare health benefits are in need.
