Phase 2, Day 1 13:45 You enter Mr. Royer's room. He is grimacing and appears to be in pain. You ask him, "Are you hurting? Can I get you some pain medication?" Mr. Royer nods. You ask him to tell you where it hurts, but he continues to moan and grimace. He appears tense, shifting his position back and forth. You attempt to console him with touch and verbal communication but are unable to do so. Mr. Royer is in pain but is not able to communicate. You administer the ordered pain medication.

STUDENT ACTION: Document the pain assessment for Mr. Royer within the Pain Assessment chart. Document the pain medication administration within the MAR. When finished, click Mark Phase 2 as Done.
