Mr. Schultz is a 58-year-old male who is in to see you today because of chest pain. He is currently not having any. It was last experience yesterday. It has been lasting minutes to a couple of hours at a time and has become increasing in frequency for the past week. He has experienced this in the past 6 months or more before, but he's done nothing for it. It Always has resolved on its own. He tried taking Tums which seemed to help a little bit. The pain is described as midsternal and radiates towards his back. He's not sure what makes it better although tums has helped in the past. Recently though the tums have not work at all. He has noticed the symptoms are worse if he is eating a large meal, especially if it spicy. He has a had a couple of episodes where he has had symptoms at night. He has noticed more burping and nausea. He has had several episodes where he has an acidic flavor in his mouth.
