HCM-500 21st Century Healthcare Systems - Thomas Edison State University

Using Google docs, your team will complete an annotated outline that details your formal presentation on the challenges faced by each set of unique stakeholders under a healthcare reform initiative in the United States in the healthcare value chain. Be sure to include your sources. You will need to have your stakeholder group approved by the mentor before you begin working, and no more than two teams will have the same stakeholder group. No matter what stakeholder is chosen, each team must show how the stakeholder group changes the other groups and/or is affected by the other stakeholders.

In your outline, please include the following:

Introduction that presents your central thesis about the challenges faced by your stakeholder category and previews the main points of the argument. You should present with the assumption that your audience has basic knowledge of the healthcare system, such as an HR manager.

Discussion of each main point, including the properly cited research you conducted to support your argument. In general, you should think through the issue incorporating a SWOT (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats) analysis and PESTEL (political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal) analysis.

Conclusion that summarizes your main points and future challenges and opportunities your stakeholder group is likely to face.

This synchronous event will be held in Edison Live! our virtual meeting space during Week 8 of the semester. To access the event, click the Collaboration Space link in the Edison Live! section of the course site a few minutes before the designated time. Use the following link for directions and helpful videos about how to use the Edison Live! tool in Moodle. Please review the whole document, but pay particular attention to the section "Transferring Presenter Tools Between Users," as you will need to use this feature for your team presentation. Your mentor will work with the class to propose a time that works best and accommodates the majority.

During this synchronous event, each team will present to the class on the challenges faced by each set of unique stakeholders in the healthcare value chain. Each member of the team must present a section. You must include a PowerPoint visual and your overall presentation should be 20 to 25 minutes with 10 minutes of questioning and answering.
