Question: "Idea chunks" are short pieces of writing, maybe one to three paragraphs long, that attempt to
1. Capture an idea you have
2. Find some support for that idea from the text and/or from your experience
3. Explain the significance of the idea
These are not essays; you are still writing to figure out what you are thinking. In this activity, you are primarily making connections from Pérez's and Graff's ideas to aspects of your own life and experience as they relate to life after High School.
Idea chunks are just that-a brainstorm of ideas that you are trying out because you might use them later in your writing. The more you write about the idea you have chosen, the easier it will be to understand and explain its significance.Push yourself to be as specific as you can be.
Here are some ideas that may help you get started. You do not have to write about all of these, and you can choose different prompts if you want, as long as you are revisiting and incorporating evidence from the texts, and explaining your thinking about "What's Next?" in relation to the two readings we just completed.
Review your key vocabulary lists from Activities 4 and 5. Do the words you chose still best represent key aspects of your identity, values, goals, or abilities? How might you represent those key aspects through an example from your life or an experience you have had?
Have Pérez or Graff added any insight to your thoughts about your future path?
Have Pérez or Graff made you think of any moments in your life that best represent who you are right now?

Have Pérez or Graff caused you to change your thinking about anything?
