• Korea is known as the plastic surgery capital of the world, used to have preconceptions that people in Korea had major facial surgeries. Later found out most plastic surgeries were very minor, for example, one of the most common ones double eyelid surgery. Much of the plastic surgery procedures are fast and painless, with a very competitive market in Korea it makes sense for people to travel there for these procedures as it can save a lot of money. When thought of plastic surgery from a western perspective before thought of more drastic changes that were actually minor surgeries, like reforming noses and even getting liposuction.
• After learning about K-beauty more on youtube, learned it was more focused on taking care of your skin and protecting it from the sun. learned it was more about maintaining what you already have and less about creating something new. K-beauty is more of a natural look that is lighter, compared to western look at is more outgoing with a heavier application of makeup generally. was actually impressed to see how popular wearing different colored contact lenses were in Korea, it opens a whole new avenue of style that hadn't thought about before.
