The reflection papers are intended to be short papers but to be sure that you are answering all questions, please copy and paste the question prompts into a word document and respond accordingly, so that you and I can be sure you have answered all questions and completed the reflection paper.  

Note: This is your second participation in a group process counseling. Writing this paper is based on your experience as group member. Your experience will help answer the following questions.

1. What are the norms of the group (what is expected/what is not allowed)? How did you learn the norms? Do the norms help you to meet your goals or are they counterproductive?
2. What different roles, both positive and negative, have you seen played out by various members of the group? Give examples to illustrate the roles, if you can. What roles have you seen yourself playing?
3. Have the communication patterns changed since you first joined the group? Describe how communication flows in the group: including who talks, the tone of the discussion, and whether it is process or content oriented (or both). What do the communication patterns tell you about this group?
4. Is the group welcoming of diversity? Would individuals from marginalized groups feel at home in this group? Would their contributions be encouraged and valued? What makes you come to that conclusion? Do all participants come away empowered?
5. What has the group been like for you so far? What goal have you set for this group? Are you making progress? How can you use the group to progress in your goal? What can you do both inside and outside the group to make progress?
6. What have you learned about yourself so far in the group (what social tendencies do you see in yourself). Do you see yourself acting the same way in group that you do outside of the group (socially), what similarities do you see, what differences do you see, why?
7. What leader skills have you seen your group leader demonstrate so far? What impact did this have on the group specifically, why did the group member utilize these skills in particular?
