A local doctor's office in Ontario has an opening for a part-time phone receptionist.

The position requires excellent communication skills because the person will answer calls from patients and also greet patients when they enter the office.

Monica, who was born and raised in Quebec, applies for the job.

Although well-qualified, the doctor does not hire her because she has a noticeable accent and the doctor feels that some patients may not easily understand her, especially over the phone.
