Hard Work has the most impact onAmerican Dream
I grew up at a little city in Haiti and there was no high school where I lived. After elementary schooling one must thereforego to the town for high school. It was not easy for me because I had to stay at a relative's house. Every Friday I would have to walk back to my hometown because my parents did not have enough money to buy a car. Leaving my home to stay in another family house who did not treat me good made my young age at school the worst experience of my life. However, some good things happened too. I had an amazing mother, who was always there for me. My mother always told me that education and hard work are the most important things you need if you want to achieve your goals. I am a single mother, I came to America with my only daughter Mariam Abdou. I never thought about getting a diploma in America, but by working hard, I put myself in school and got my associate degree in December at Massasoit and started in January 2019 at Bridgewater State University for my bachelor degree. Reading "Hard Work in The Truth About Getting ahead in America" by Robert Mckinnon showed me again that working hard is the best way to realize our dreams. I believe by working hard andby continuing my education I would have a great future.
I feel that Hard Work has the most impact on American dream because by working hard you can realize your dream and get the things you want in life. Hard Work is the most important key to success. Thinking about myself struggling, now I have two jobs to pay my school, and take care of my daughter. It is a very hard work, but I am doing it for a specific reason, it is achieving my American dream. According to Robert Mckinnon in the article, Hard Work, "Working hard does come with its own intrinsic rewards - money, pride, a sense of accomplishment, respect from your peers. But it does not automatically come with mobility." I agree because when you work too long at a place, you may end up not reaching your true potential as you can only learn so much, but the achievements without hard work are impossible. An idle person can never gain anything if they sit and wait for the better opportunity to come.
According to the article Grit, defined as persistence of motive and effort, itshowed persistence in hard work. Hard Work and success go hand in hand because life is designed to be tough. Nothing is offered on a silver platter, which means that people have to keep working hard. In actual sense, there are so many challenges in life that only hardworking people can overcome them. This explains why there are very few successful people in the world today. Some of the things that one must do for them to be successful include going through the planning process and doing some training and research. One must also have the right attitude or mindset about their goals. Unless you work hard, it is impossible for one to engage in such things. If anythingtough happens, many people would rather give up than try. Precisely, hard work is a necessity for an individual to be successful in life.
He says in the same article, "We should all work toward that change. In the meantime, until that change is real, what should you do if life gives you the hill?" His answer : work hard and climb. No matter what condition we are born into, we should work hard. Some may be born with extra privileges but they have more responsibilities and more to lose.
In conclusion, Mckinnon's article shows that in order to achieve American Dream you need to work hard and climb. Hard work is the only way to excel in life, especially in academics. At a job, hard work is a necessity for an individual to become successful in life. You need to take charge and work hard.
