A 28-year-old student presents with "hacking cough." Productive with small amounts of sputum, and runny nose. Doesn't take any meds, no allergies, no significant past medical history. Temp: 99.9F, Resp: 16/min, HR: 90 BPM, diffuse fine crackles. Chest X-Ray shows diffuse infiltrates in the lower lobe of the right lung. CBC shows WBC count 10,500. The nurse practitioner diagnosed the patient with community-acquired pneumonia. What medication is an appropriate outpatent treatment?
