Unit Learning Outcomes:

1. Examine the formation of different types of business organisations.

2. Recommend appropriate legal solutions to resolve areas of dispute.

Assignment Brief and Guidance: You are working for a law firm advising new businesses on formation and dispute resolution. You have been asked to produce a handbook for new businesses on the legal requirements when forming different types of business organisations and the legal solutions available to them should a legal dispute arise.

The handbook must include the following sections:

1. An explanation and breakdown of how at least three different types of business organisations are legally formed. Include an assessment of the legal advantages and disadvantages of the formation of different types of business organisations.

2. Critically assess and evaluate the different types of business organisations explained previously.

3. Explain how at least three different types of business organisations are legally managed and funded.

4. Recommend how a business could obtain legal advice and support for disputes arising in a range of areas. Give examples to support your recommendations.

5. Compare, contrast and evaluate legal solutions for businesses to resolve a legal dispute arising in two of the following areas:

a) Financial

b) Contractual

c) Employment

6. Evaluate the effectiveness of the following: Legal solutions, Legal advice and Support for dispute resolution.
