Guide in writing persuasive letter
You have been working at "x" company for 5 years. You have a decent salary, good benefits, get along with your managers and colleagues, and you like your job overall. However, in the past year you have noticed that you don't feel challenged like you have before and that you aren't as happy working there anymore. When you started reflecting on how you are feeling, you realize that you haven't had a performance appraisal for the past 2 years since your new direct manager started. You also realize that your colleagues complain a lot more than they used to, especially about their managers. Upon further reflection, you realize that your work hasn't had birthday celebrations like it used to do and that the company only celebrates large successes that relate to financial targets. You have certainly been busier at work, so maybe everyone is busier; therefore they have less time for the other things that maybe are not essential anymore? One thing is for sure, overall morale is low and you are questioning if you even like your job anymore. It just isn't like it used to be. They have changed from focusing on employees to focusing on making money.
You decide that you don't want to leave the company just yet and that you may be able to inspire change. You know the company was successful and productive back when morale was higher; so why can't they focus on employees and making money at the same time now? You know things can be better and you have lots of ideas on how to do things differently and get morale back up! So you decide to write a letter to persuade the company that your ideas can be a win-win for employees and the company.
