Mogene King's Theory of Goal Attainment is one nursing theory that provides guidance for direct patient care. Her theory states, "Nursing is a process of action, reaction, and interaction, whereby nurse and client share information about their perception in the nursing situation."(Gonzalo, 2024). Her theory explains how the nurse and patient work together to set goals, communicate information, and take action to achieve the goals. King states that " a nurse's goal is to help individuals maintain their health to function in their roles.
