As economics becomes a greater part of the national political scene in countries around the world, it's also becoming part of pop culture. From the U.S. economic crisis to the Eurozone issues, comedians, artists, and songwriters are all weighing in with their feelings and thoughts on economic issues.

On your own, research different examples of economics appearing in pop culture over the last five years. Choose one that particularly resonates with you and post a link to the discussion board so other students can view your example. When you post, answer these questions:

• Why did you choose this particular example of economics in pop culture? Why did it resonate with you?
• What do you think the creator was trying to express, and how did s/he accomplish that?
• What are some of the benefits of using this method of political/economic speech? Some of the pitfalls?
• Do you think this is an effective way for this artist to send his/her message? Why or why not?
