1. Given the value for the universal gravitational constant, the average value for the acceleration due to gravity at the surface of Earth, and the radius of Earth, determine Earth's mass. Note:  Use 6.37 x 106 m as the Earth's radius? Show all work.

2. Density is a measure of the mass per unit of volume for a material.  Mathematically, this can be expressed in units of kg/m3. Given that the equation for the volume of a sphere is based on radius, determine the density of Earth. Show all work.  

3. An 800 g rock is tied to a string and whirled in a vertical circle with a 75 cm radius and a frequency of rotation of 1.6 Hz. 

a) Assuming a constant velocity, determine the tension in the rope at the top of the circle. Show all Work.

b) Assuming a constant velocity, determine the tension in the rope at the bottom of the circle. Show all work.
