It seems that everyone in corporate and government hates the annual budgeting cycle. Days are spent in meetings and everyone is requested to supply their revenue and expense plans for the next 12 months and then management proceeds to slash the expense requests. Despite all this seemingly worthless activity, the financial analysts not only live by those budgets but update their cash budget on a monthly basis. Do you agree that their efforts are necessary or are just busy work?
