Do you think businesses have good intentions when pursuing sustainable goals?

Sustainability is quite a hot topic. With what we currently know about our planet, we know that it cannot continue to withstand the level of pollution at which we currently operate at.

Because of this, we have seen many very popular businesses pivot their core competencies more toward that which contains greater care for Earth. A great example of this is Patagonia, whose CEO gave away his shares in the company to help fight climate change. However, this abrupt change in tone at the corporate level is eyebrow-raising.

Businesses love to tell us how much they're helping the planet, but do you think that they're doing this in order to truly make a difference, or because they see it as a fad that they can capitalize on through effective marketing?
