HEALTH AND SAFETY

Two of the Primary terms Health and safety are taken very casually by certain individuals. Sometimes we know a certain thing will harm us and we have to have a better choice Still we choose the one that will harm us. This instance has a term called a moral dilemma. Even though I have a wise choice, we tend to choose the one that's not moral.

If I explain the moral dilemma by taking into consideration health, we all know smoking and tobacco kill and are unsafe to consume, yet we are in a moral dilemma and we eventually consume it. It's a very evident choice as to which product is good and safe for our health.

What is the difficult part is when intoxicating stuff becomes a habit making it even worse for us to discontinue it. Then rehabilitation becomes the only source to recover from this deadly damage.

We have seen many youngsters indulging in intoxicating substances making them vulnerable to their own selves and then suffering for their entire lives knowing the fact that such products will ruin their health and safety as well.

As far as safety is concerned, we know that somewhere it goes along with the thought that I introduced with regards to health.

If we take the example of the novel coronavirus pandemic that shook the whole country and brought every industry to a standstill. Even though several measures were taken by the government to curb it, certain people went against their moral dilemma, putting others' lives at risk. I am saying this in context to the regulations imposed by the government on staying at home and taking necessary precautions to prevent the deadly virus. Yet to our surprise there were many people who hardly seemed to care about the impotent issue.

Health and safety can also be determined by giving examples of the workplace. I recently read an article by Aaron Sojourner, on Workers having the right to health and safety at the workplace.

In his article, Aaron explained that workers are prone to health hazards and need to be given adequate safety measures and precautionary guidelines before starting work. Aaron focused on educating the workers about their rights. The health and safety of the workers is very essential, especially when the pandemic has hit the nation hard. The matter of safety and health for essential workers is of utmost importance and priority. Some companies are reluctant to do or take precautionary steps for their workers thinking this would increase the cost for the company. Lastly he concluded that workers should be made aware of their rights and if its denied then they should report about it.
