C/O right mid to upper abdominal pain, nausea/vomiting for 2 days. Unable to tolerate any intake.
Admitting diagnosis: Colon Mass, Nausea & vomiting Admitted to hospitalist with surgeon consulting
Diagnostics: CT Scan shows a large mass in the colon, suspicious for colorectal cancer
Patient is on the schedule for tomorrow for an exploratory laparotomy with excision of the bowel/tumor and ostomy.
Hx: Overweight, hypothyroid. Eats out a lot. No family history of cancer. Has lost 10 pounds over the last 3 months without trying.
Social Hx: Married to her husband of 2 years. Has one son, age 14 who lives with them. Non smoker, Never drinks. Attends church regularly. Works in the local school system running an after school program, and part time as a photographer. Husband is partially blind, so she is the driver.
