Assume you collected data on average weekly snowfall at Breckenridge for 18 weeks (N=18) over winters of 2011 and 2012, and found that sample mean was 4.2 inches with estimated standard error of SE = 1.12. Suppose the population data are normally distributed. Give the estimate of mean and variance of population distribution of weekly wintertime Breckenridge snowfall using sample. Use sample mean y bar and its standard error to evaluate population mean and variance of its distribution.
