Signatures to a petition were collected on 676 sheets. Each sheet has enough space for 42 signatures, but on many sheets a smaller number of signatures was collected. The number of signatures per sheet were counted on a random sample of 50 sheets. The results are given below:

a) Give an 80% confidence interval for the total number of signatures.
b) How (if at all) does the non-normality of the Number of signatures (with a greatest frequency at the upper end - 42) affect your answer?
c). After the sample in the Table of question 1 was taken, the total number of completely filled sheets (with 42 signatures each) was counted and found to be 326 (out of the total of 676). Use this infornmation to improve your estimate of the total number of signatures and find a standard error to that estimate.
Suppose the population is normally distributed they make a decision to do a hypothesis test.
Test the hypothesis that no difference exists between the groups at α = .05 and perform and report all related tests and statistics.
Their average cost was $405 with a standard deviation of $80. The Dean of Students believes that the costs are greater this semester. What is the test value for this hypothesis?
Compute the correlation among the variables. Describe perfect correlation also negative correlation. Utilize the following data to answer questions related.
Kind of examination produced significant main effects on both mean mark and time taken to complete the examination.
assuming that the population is normally distributed construct a 95 confidence interval for the population mean based
A sample of 60 smokers has a mean cotinine level of 125. Assuming that sigma=25, find the 90% confidence level estimate of the mean cotinine level of all smokers.
Compute the proportion p (hat) for your sample Show your computation. Find a 95% confidence interval for p. What is the margin of error in this confidence interval? What is the meaning of this interval with respect to your data and project?
Response being average of morning and evening speeds. At each interchange, three settings of traffic lights are allotted at random to three Tuesdays. Examine the results using more traditional split-plot method.
Biting an unpopped kernel of popcorn hurts! As an experiment, a self-confessed connoisseur of cheap popcorn counted 773 kernels and put them in a popperAfter popping, the unpopped kernels were counted
To investigate this belief, he randomly samples 41 adult women and records their weights. The scores have a mean of 111 lbs. and a standard deviation of 12.4. A local census taken several years ago shows the mean weight of adult women was 115 lbs.
Perform a test to determine whether there is sufficient evidence to support a claim of a linear correlation between two variables. Find the critical values of r given the number of pairs of data n and the significance level alpha.
