The "Get Yourself Tested" campaign is a national campaign produced by MTV, and aiming to increase awareness of sexual health and promote STI and HIV testing among young adults. The campaign provides materials, graphics, and support for other organizations to partner with MTV to reach a broad and diverse audience of young adults with the message about the importance of STI testing.
For this assignment, your task is to estimate the prevalence of awareness of the GYT campaign in 2013 among young (18-24) US adults. Specifically, you will determine the proportion of young adults who saw any materials related to the campaign during 2013, and will describe any characteristics of young adults associated with seeing or not seeing the campaign. You will also measure the perceived importance of routine STI testing among young adults who are sexually active, and attempt to determine whether those who saw the campaign hold more favorable beliefs towards the importance of routine STI screening than do those who did not see the campaign.
