Question

A 16-year-old, G1 P0, 38-week gestation client arrived at the prenatal clinic. The client states, "I really have a pounding headache and my vision is blurry." The client's vital signs are blood pressure (BP) 160/90 mm Hg, heart rate (HR) 98 beats per minute, temperature (T) 98.8 F (37.1°C), and respiratory rate (RR) of 22 per minute. The client has 2 edema in her lower extremities. Physical assessment reveals deep tendon reflexes (DTRs) at 4 with 3 beats of clonus. Urine dipstick is 2 protein. External fetal heart rate (FHR) monitor at 110 beats per minute with minimal variability, non-reactive NST. The client reports that she has no known allergies and is currently only taking prenatal vitamins.
