In Mirabilis (Four-O’ clock plant), two genes, Y and R,affect flower colors. Neither is completely dominant and they interact with each other to produce 7flower colors- RRYY = crimson YyRR = magenta YYRr = Orange-red YyRr =magenta-rose Yyrr = yellow Yyrr = pale yellow yyRR, yyRr and yyrr = white Two four-O’ clock plants were crossed and gave the followingoffspring- 1/8 crimson, 1/8 orange-red, 1/4 magenta, 1/4 magenta-rose, 1/4white.
