During my undergraduate degree I learned the true value of Genesis 3:19 “By the sweat of your brow you will eat your food until you return to the ground, since from it you were taken; for dust you are and to dust you will return." After the fall of Adam, nothing in life was easy. The law of first mention when it comes to Bible study is crucial in understanding life, making the book of Genesis critical in understanding God and the Bible. Within the first three chapters, not just Genesis, but the first three of the Bible we learn that nothing will be easy in life, everything will take hard work. In my undergraduate degree I didn’t work hard, and in return I reaped what I sowed. In my graduate degree I will become a scholar, work hard and I will learn information I will use for the rest of my life. I will learn things that will be valuable in the Kingdom of God, if that doesn’t give you chills or compel you to strive for a Spirit of excellence; I honestly don’t know what will!
