Introduction: Background: By now, you should be familiar with core Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Usability Engineering theory after analyzing
Learning outcome 1: Conduct thorough evaluations of system interfaces deploying a variety of usability evaluation methods including heuristic analysis, usability tests and cognitive walkthroughs.
Learning outcome 2: Apply core Human Computer Interaction (HCI) and Usability Engineering theory to the
analysis and design of high-quality interfaces for computer and web systems.
Learning outcome 3: Generate a range of interface prototypes, from low fidelity storyboards to partial high- fidelity applications for a range of device and system types.
Learning outcome 4: Utilise a variety of tools and techniques for the generation of creative and highly effective web-based systems.
In this assignment, you must re-design and develop a prototype as an enhanced version of the website or system you evaluated from the previous work. You are expected to apply the core Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and Usability Engineering theory when proposing and designing the new website with high-quality computer and web systems interfaces.
You are highly advised to start the work by generating a range of interface prototypes, from low- fidelity storyboards to partial high-fidelity applications for various device and system types, including content development. Then, utilize multiple tools and techniques to generate creative and highly effective web-based systems. Lastly, conduct thorough evaluations of system interfaces deploying various usability evaluation methods, including heuristic analysis, usability tests, and cognitive walkthroughs.
Part 1: (Content Development & UI Prototyping Process):
You are to identify users' needs by ensuring that users are actively involved in the mocking-up of the UI for a system that provides a mechanism to support internet-based services - build a website and online strategy to promote the business and for information sharing.
Part 2 (Website & System Development):
Develop a functional website and online/offline system that allows visitors to get updates and information from the student website, its activities, news, and calendar, and interact with the business owner.
Task:
You should ensure the following are included in your website:
Website Design and Prototyping
Appropriate UI Design and Color Scheme
UX and Interaction Design are well taken care of (Usability Testing)
Sufficient and relevant content and information
Appropriate site navigation, menu, and hierarchy
Admin Panel allowing business owners to update the website, such as.
Announcement
News & Updates
Product Information
Event & Calendar
Other useful or relevant features/functionalities (e.g. backup utilities)
Report Writing (Not more than 2000 words)
Introduction
Your artifact must meet the above website design and prototyping requirements - Develop the Persona and Scenarios for your website
Proposed Timeline/Schedule - Content Development, Project Planning, and Website Implementation
Proposed Website Structure - The website wireframes and its visual/user interface
Actual/Final Website Screenshots
Evaluation and Testing - The prototype/actual/final website (Fulfilment of Universal Web Design Principle and Jakob Nielsen's Usability 10 Heuristics)
You must cover and explain how the required Intended Module Learning Outcomes were achieved.
Appendix for:
User account login credentials (Admin and other users) (Mandatory)
Other website wireframes that support your writing (Optional)
