Mr. Smith was fired on the same day that the EPA contacted ChemCO regarding the allegation, ChemCo told Mr. Smith the company was downsizing, but Mr. Smith discovered that there was another engineer hired at ChemCo to fill his position, just two weeks after Mr. Smith was terminated.
