An article will be provided to the students for them to read and analyze. Students will then develop a reaction paper which will highlight their knowledge-based opinion regarding a certain national policy. Students must follow a suggested format of such kind of writing.
Task Objectives:
1. Reflect on the concepts and philosophies articulated in the following topics:
1.1 Human Flourishing;
1.2 The Good Life; and
1.3 When Technology and Humanity Cross;
2. Articulate personal insights and arguments on a revolutionary economic policy that could define human flourishing, good life and relationship between technology and humanity

Task Directions:
1. Carefully read and analyze the article entitled "Economic Growth is an Unnecessary Evil".
2. Make a reaction paper which will emphasize your feedback regarding the idea presented in the article.
3. You are recommended to follow this format/outline:
A. Summary of the article
B. Reaction to the idea presented in the article
C. Conclusion

4. Consider the following important points in expressing your reaction:
a. the kind of human flourishing being promoted in the article;
b. the kind of good life suggested in the article; and
c. relationship between technology and humanity.

A position paper reflecting students' arguable opinion on a selected topic
Task Objective:
1. Demonstrate deep understanding of the scientific concept and principles related to genetics, chemistry and physics; and
2. Make a balanced decision between promoting progress in science and technology and preservation of environment, health, moral and values

Task Directions:
1. Create a position paper in any of the following topics:

a. Continuous GMO Production: Economic versus Health Impacts
b. Gene Therapy: Moral values and ethics Versus Improvement and Extension of Human Life
c. Creating Android Robots: A Promise of a Smart World versus AI Takeover

2. In writing the paper, follow these procedures:
a. Introduce your topic with some basic background information. Build up to your thesis sentence, which asserts your position.
b. Introduce possible objections to your position
c. Support and acknowledge the opposing points. Just be sure you aren't discrediting your own views.
d. Explain that your position is still the best one, despite the strength of counter-arguments. This is where you can work to discredit some of the counter-arguments and support your own.
e. Summarize your argument and restate your position.

3. Adopt this format:
I. Introduction
a. Introduce the topic
b. Provide background on the topic to explain why it is important
c. Assert the thesis (your view of the issue)

II. Counter Argument
a. Summarize the counterclaims
b. Provide supporting information for counterclaims
c. Refute the counterclaims
d. Give evidence for argument
III. Your Arguments
(present your important educated and informed as well as the support or proof for such opinions)

IV. Conclusion
