Because transportation costs are so high, metal fabricators tend to operate within a five hundred mile radius. Within each of these regions, different firms have different capabilities, but there tends to be two to four firms that can bid high-end, high-precision fabrication proposals. They tend to include a sizeable profit margin in these bids. How will the recent drops in gasoline prices affect their bidding behaviour?
